Farah Pahlavi, born on October 14 , 1938 in Tehran ( Iran ), was the third and last wife of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi , Shah of Iran, from 1959 to 1980. First queen from 1959 , she then bore the title of empress ( shahbanou ) from 1967 until the overthrow of the monarchy in 1979 .
