Conditions & Grades

Product Condition

  • New – Sealed: A product that is New – Sealed means that it hasn’t been opened before or removed from the manufacturer’s original box/packaging which ensures that it hasn’t been used before and totally functioning.
  • New – Open box: A product that is New – Open box means that it is in an outstanding condition without any defects or signs of wear. It comes in its original box/packaging but it is unsealed. This product might have been used only for testing purposes or as a floor model; yet is fully functioning and includes all its original accessories.
  • New – Unsealed: A product that is New – Unsealed means that it is in excellent working condition; it comes without its original box/packaging. This product might have very minimal defects or signs of wear.
  • Like New – Mint condition: A product that is Like New – Mint means that it doesn’t have any color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear, scratches or any damages and totally functioning as intended. Such products are considered the most valuable.
  • Used – Excellent condition: A product that is Used – Excellent condition means that it was used before and might have very minimal defects such as color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear or scratches. This product is in an outstanding working condition and totally functioning as intended.
  • Used – Good condition: A product that is Used – Good condition means that it was used before and it might/will have some observable defects such as color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear, scratches but it is totally functioning as intended.
  • Used-Fair Condition: A product that is used – fair condition means that it was used before and will have obvious defects such as color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear. This product is dysfunctional or needs maintenance to work or could be used for spare parts.

Box Condition

  • Original Sealed: An Original Sealed box means that it is the original manufacturing box and is totally/partially sealed ensuring that it hasn’t been used before.

  • Original open box – Good condition: An Original Open box in good condition means that it is the original manufacturing box but has been opened. The condition of the box is good might include very minimal defects or aging factors but is still intact.
  • Original open box – Defective: An Original Open box in good condition means that it is the original manufacturing box but has been opened. The box might/will include major defects and is not intact.
  • Similar to original box – Good condition: A Similar to original box – Good condition  box means that it is similar to the original manufacturing box and has been opened. The condition of the box is good might include very minimal defects or aging factors but is still intact.
  • Similar to original box –  Defective : A Similar to original box – Good condition  box means that it is similar to the original manufacturing box and has been opened. The box includes major defects and is not intact.
  • Without a box:  An item that comes without its original manufacturing box or a similar one.

Case Condition

  • Mint Condition: A case that is in mint condition will not have any color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear, tears or any damages and totally functioning.
  • Excellent Condition: A case that is in excellent condition might have very minimal color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear yet it is in excellent condition and totally functioning.
  • Very Good Condition: A case that is in very good condition might have some color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear yet it is in very good condition and totally functioning.
  • Good Condition: A case that is in good condition might/will have some color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear, tears and might not be fully functional.
  • Fair Condition: A case that is in fair condition will have some color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear, tears and might/will not be fully functional.
  • Poor Condition: A case that is in good condition will have some color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear, tears and will not be fully functional.

Book Condition 

  • Sealed: A book that is sealed means that it hasn’t been opened before or removed from the manufacturer’s original box/packaging, which ensures that it hasn’t been read before and doesn’t have any imperfections to the cover or pages that might affect its readability.
  • New: A book that is new means that it was read before and might have very minimal imperfections to its cover or pages without any major defects that might affect its readability.
  • Mint: A book that is mint means that it doesn’t have any color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear, scratches or any damages to its outer cover or its pages. This book will be in a superb reading condition and doesn’t have any defects that. might affect its readability. Such books are considered the most valuable.
  • Very Good: A book that is in a very good condition means that it was read before and will have few minimal imperfections to its cover or pages without any major defects that might affect its readability.
  • Good: A book that is in a good condition means that it was read before and will have few obvious imperfections to its cover or pages such as color imperfections, stains, burn marks, tears, cosmetic wear, scratches without any major defects that might affect its readability.
  • Fair:  A book that is in a fair condition means that it was read before and will have some major imperfections to its cover or pages such as color imperfections, stains, burn marks, tears, cosmetic wear, scratches that can affect its readability.

Cover Condition

  • Mint Condition: A cover that is in mint condition will not have any color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear, tears and the staples are fully intact without any damages.
  • Excellent Condition: A cover that is in excellent condition might have very minimal color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear and the staples are fully/partially intact without any damages.
  • Good Condition: A cover that is in good condition might/will have some color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear, tears and the staples might not be fully intact and might contain minor damages.
  • Fair Condition: A cover that is in fair condition will have color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear, tears and the staples will not be intact with clear damages.
  • Loose Staples: A cover that has its staples in place but are a bit loose.
  • Contains burn marks: A cover that has marks as a result of being exposed to any kind of fire.
  • Contains stain marks: A cover that has marks as a result of being exposed to any kind of food, drinks and oils.
  • Slightly torn: A cover that has small cuts usually on the edges of the cover due to improper storage and use, humidity or over stacking.
  • Slightly Bent: A cover that has been bent due to improper storage and use, humidity or over stacking.
  • Slightly Wrinkled: A cover that has been wrinkled due improper storage and use or over stacking.
  • Water Damaged: A cover that has been partially damaged as a result of being exposed to water.

Papers Condition

  • Mint:  A paper that is in mint condition will not have any color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear, tears, writings, underlining or any marks that might affect its readability.
  • Very Good: A paper that is in very good condition might have very minimal imperfections such as cosmetic wear, underlining but doesn’t have any major imperfections that will affect its readability.
  • Good: A paper that is in  good condition might/will have few imperfections such as cosmetic wear, marks , writings, underlining but doesn’t have any major imperfections that will affect its readability.
  • Fair:  A paper that is in fair condition will have obvious imperfections such as cosmetic wear, writings, underlining ,tear ,stains , burn marks  that will affect its readability.
  • Contains Burn Marks: A paper with burn marks means that it has been exposed to fire and left a mark on one ore few pages
  • Stained: A paper that is stained has either been exposed to fluid or food spillage which causes discoloration in certain spots or caused by some imperfections in the paper which shows in the form of small brown spots.
  • Torn: A torn paper means that it has a cut that is in an irregular shape which can/will affect the readability of the page.
  • Crumpled: A crumpled paper means that it was crushed which left it with several wrinkles and lines on the page surface.

Vinyl Cover Condition

  • Mint: A Vinyl Cover that is in mint condition will not have any color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear or tear and is fully functional.
  • Excellent: A Vinyl Cover that is in excellent condition might have very minimal color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear yet is fully functional.
  • Very Good: A Vinyl Cover that is in very good condition might/will have minimal color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear, tears yet is fully functional.
  • Good: A Vinyl Cover that is in good condition will have minimal color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear, tears yet is fully functional.
  • Fair: A Vinyl Cover that is in fair condition will have obvious color imperfections, stains, cosmetic wear, tears and is not fully functional.

 

Stamp Grade

  • Superb (S): A superb stamp means that its design is completely centered and perfect in all areas, and it is often a rare stamp; such stamps are considered the most valuable.
  • Extremely Fine (XF): An extremely fine stamp means that it is almost in perfect condition and is nearly superb. The stamp design is well-centered, with balanced margins that are wider than normal. Original gum is in good condition on mint stamps.
  • Very Fine (VF): A very fine stamp means that the design of such a stamp is nearly ideal, as it is nicely centered with well-balanced margins. There are no flaws in the perforations.
  • Fine (F): A fine stamp means that the stamp’s design barely misses its perforations but they do not cut into the design. The edges of the stamp are misaligned. The left and right sides are perfectly balanced and the top and bottom are unbalanced or vice versa.
  • Average (Avg.): An average stamp means that the stamp has many flaws, as it can easily be torn or soiled. The edges may be misaligned.
  • Poor (P): A Poor stamp means that the design is not centered and the perforations are cut too deep into the design. Such a stamp will have some flaws, such as being damaged or discoloured.
