Etienne Dinet’s fortuitous discovery of Southern Algeria in 1885 completely altered his life and work. His deep attachment led to his complete integration into Moslem society with his conversion to Islam in 1913. This lavishly illustrated monograph highlights the important stages in the artistic and spiritual journey of this original artist who produced such sensitive, intimate and solemn work.
